It's great to meet you.

Jonei Chapple-Sewell Profile
Olive Branch

My name is Jonei, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, with over 7 years of experience providing therapeutic services to students, adolescents, adults, parents/guardians and marginalized communities. My clinical background is in diverse communities such as BIPOC, high acuity adolescence, at-promise youth, sex-trafficked youth, military families, LGBTQIA, and low/high income families. I am passionate to be an ear for those who are not heard, an advocate for those who are underrepresented, and help those overcome who never thought it was possible. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families who have experienced complex trauma, depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, low self-esteem, and identity challenges.

I chose to pursue therapy as a career, to create spaces for you to be your authentic self. I know what it feels like to grow up and not have a safe place to be undone. As a Black woman therapist, I tend to bring my whole self into the room. I practice being self-aware and continuing my own healing journey to increase my abilities to be attune with you and your emotions as a client. I relate with many of your stories which allows me to be a reflection of the Progressive Healing journey. Healing is tangible with continual and consistent work on your mental health. I am dedicated to providing you with the appropriate clinical tools to increase your opportunity of engaging in your own Progressive Healing.

Clinical Approach

My clinical approach includes psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and client-centered therapy. I often will use Yalom theory, and DBT approaches when applicable. I intentionally collaborate with you to shape your safe space in sessions to build insight, self-awareness, identify development, and think critically on how systems around you impact your daily life, such as familial, work, relationships, media, and the political climate. My goal is to help you identify your triggers, manage your stressors, and increase a supportive community around you to live a life worth living.
